The Top Manta cooperative has launched the first sneakers of its own social and solidarity brand. Ande Dem, which means “a walk together” in Wolof, the Senegalese language spoken by most of the street vendors in Barcelona. They are the result of two years of collective work, and are produced locally, with criteria of sustainability and social justice. All profits will go towards improving the living conditions of the street vendors and their families.

Unlike the big sportswear brands, which produce on a large scale in developing countries, thereby promoting forced displacement, Top Manta has opted for responsible production, which encourages the recovery of the artisanal footwear industry.

The shoes have been manufactured in family workshops in Alicante and Portugal, with high-quality products, vegan materials and ensuring the traceability of all parts.
