The shirt denounces the art of hypocrisy of the European Union states, as the Venice Biennale coincides this year with the declaration of a "state of migration emergency" made by Giorgia Meloni's government following the arrival of small boats on Italian shores.

This clash of realities demonstrates a flagrant contradiction. It is hypocritical for the same states that expel us from our homes, kill us at the borders, and punish us with immigration laws to then select us to participate in the Biennale and claim that they are an inclusive and multicultural society.
